Helpful advice

Short, practical tips — not requirements.

For guests

Getting the best price

  1. Check different days — many venues price Mondays and Fridays lower than midweek.
  2. Book early on popular days — on venues with demand-based pricing, the rate can climb as the day fills up, so early bookers get closer to the “when quiet” rate.
  3. Look for a community rate — if you're a member of a community with a venue deal, it shows automatically at checkout once you're signed in.
  4. Compare the struck-through price — it shows what you're saving against the empty-room rate, not an inflated “was” price.
  5. Meeting rooms are priced by the hour — booking only the time you need can cost less than blocking out a full day.
For community managers

Making a community thrive

  1. Set up a member rate early — even a modest venue discount gives people a concrete reason to join and stay.
  2. Post in your channels regularly — a community that goes quiet for weeks reads as inactive, even if membership is growing.
  3. Encourage members to opt into public listing — a roster of blank rows feels less alive than one with real faces, and it's each member's choice, not yours to force.
  4. Run at least one event a month — community-organised events reach the public Events page automatically, which brings new members in.
  5. Hand out admin rights deliberately — give them to people who'll actually use them, and keep removing members as a last resort with a clear reason attached.
For community managers

Running a good event

  1. Give it a clear duration — the “starts X, ends Y, N hours” summary is what people scan before deciding to attend.
  2. Pick the kind honestly — a Workshop or Class promises hands-on time, a Talk & panel promises listening, a Social & networking event promises mingling — it sets attendee expectations.
  3. Confirm registrations promptly — attendees can only message each other once they're confirmed, and a slow approval queue kills that.
  4. Let it appear on the public Events page — unless there's a real reason to keep it private, wider reach costs you nothing.
  5. Follow up afterwards — attendee messaging stays open, so a short thank-you or a next-event nudge is easy to send.

Listing a venue that sells

  1. Add a real photo to every desk zone and room — a space with no photo is hidden from search entirely, not just less appealing.
  2. Price every space you want to sell — an active price above zero is required before anything shows up; a missing or zero price hides it too.
  3. Vary your price by day if you have quiet days — a lower Monday rate fills seats that would otherwise sit empty.
  4. Keep your dashboard's “incomplete” list at zero — it names exactly what's stopping each space from being bookable.
  5. Consider a community rate — offering a discount to one active community can fill a specific room reliably, in exchange for guaranteed use.
